Pastor & Coach Robert Guerrero’s believes strongly in the tool of encouragement. Let’s see what this weeks encouragement is for you and your child.
Good day Church Families.
With the Super Bowl coming this weekend it is easy to get caught up in the hype and excitement of the “final game.” Do we get that excited about the life in Christ we live? As a coach I would often see parents who beamed with pride as their child shined on the field. I would see such a commitment to their children’s practice schedules and events pertaining to the sport. It was almost as if some parents were being validated (in their eyes)by either the consistency or performance of their child. It pointed back to them. They had prepared them, set the morals, imputed the work ethic, instilled the commitment to a team, and sharpened their skill set or put them in the right environment to succeed. As a parent, this type effort is priceless…For a Season. Because in all reality Monday is coming and the season will end, the fans will go home, the commercials will lose their flavor and the players will stop playing. Parents, let’s make sure that we put forth the same kind of effort we do in helping our children to succeed in Christ. This training will be priceless for eternity. This starts with setting the Godly example. You would never trust your child with a coach who did not understand what he was talking about or unable to to demonstrate what he/she was teaching. For Christ to be a priority in your child’s life, He must be priority in your home! It helps Drastically when they see you live what you teach. Teach and coach them to not follow Jesus because He is famous or popular, but because He is the answer All things; Because HE brings peace to all situations; Because He loves them no Matter what they do. Teach them to have the same great effort in all they do: in School, Physically, In the things of God, and Socially. This is how Jesus Grew! Luke 2:52closeLuke 2:52
52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man. (ESV)
- And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man. Our Children are a gift from God. They are given to us so that we may guide them in love and guide them back to the Lord. Let your influence reflect Christ’s influence in your life. Be loved and Pass it on!
