No Condemnation

Pastor Steve Myatt - 2/12/2012

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
Hebrews 11:6closeHebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. (ESV) (NIV)

Four Sources of Condemnation

1. ____________

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”
Romans 3:23closeRomans 3:23 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (ESV) (NIV)

“For the wages of sin is death,…”
Romans 6:23closeRomans 6:23 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (ESV) (NIV)

“If the ministry that condemns men is glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness!”
2 Corinthians 3:9close2 Corinthians 3:9 For if there was glory in the ministry of condemnation, the ministry of righteousness must far exceed it in glory. (ESV) (NIV)

“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
2 Corinthians 5:21close2 Corinthians 5:21 21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (ESV) (NIV)

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,”
Romans 8:1closeRomans 8:1 Life in the Spirit 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (ESV) (NIV)

“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”
John 3:17-18closeJohn 3:17-18 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. (ESV) (NIV)

2. _______________

“…the accuser of our brothers…”
Revelation 12:10closeRevelation 12:10 10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. (ESV) (NIV)

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;”
John 10:10closeJohn 10:10 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. (ESV) (NIV)

3._____________________________

“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.”
Romans 1:20closeRomans 1:20 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and spanine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. (ESV) (NIV)

“…the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing,…”
Romans 2:15closeRomans 2:15 15 They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them (ESV) (NIV)

“…whenever our hearts condemn us…”
1 John 3:20close1 John 3:20 20 for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything. (ESV) (NIV)

“… the blood of Christ, …cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!”
Hebrews 9:14closeHebrews 9:14 14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. (ESV) (NIV)

4._________________________

Romans 13:1closeRomans 13:1 Submission to the Authorities 13:1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. (ESV) (NIV)

“Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. For he is God’s servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God’s servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.”
Romans 13:3-4closeRomans 13:3-4 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. (ESV) (NIV)
